Selfies in Modern Art : BrainStorm

Selfies in Modern Art. Simply because I'm down with making great art my own by interrupting it with my mug.
Thinking about our obsession with documenting the "I was here" moments to make ourselves relevant in a self indulged space/time. Most of us appreciate art through our own personal lens; the ways in which we relate to it. It's human nature to humanize everything... that's why we make cartoons of animals walking upright // talking... and as I studied in my last fashion project, we personify inanimate objects like buildings, or gender things like cities. The truth is, we are most horrified by the things we can't or don't want to see a self reflection in. Maybe this will evolve into selfies in the ugly. But for now, I want to think about defacing—or rather putting my face on—art. Challenging its ownership, meaning and context.
How do we relate to things? Can seeing yourself in something change it's contex? How does it change meaning and understanding?
👊🏻💥🎨 Here are some selfies in art that I took yesterday when meandering away in a contemporary day dream during my "History of Dress" class trip to the Greek collection...
